VETERINARIAN – SMALL ANIMAL
The Hernas Veterinary Clinic of Schenectady, New York seeks one or more associate veterinarians to join our growing, busy, small animal practice. We practice a team-centered approach to care, with efficiency and flexibility as key elements. The clinic has digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, cold laser therapy, a complete surgical suite, and full lab capability. The clinic has a well-deserved reputation for diagnostic excellence, and the successful applicant will have good-to-excellent diagnostic skills. Surgeries range from simple spay/neuters to procedures such as bowel obstructions, tumor removal, and pinning broken bones. While each veterinarian has complete responsibility for their cases, collaboration and consultation with the senior veterinarian is always available.
Appointments are seen mornings and late afternoons, with surgeries scheduled for the late morning. The clinic makes referrals to regional specialists when appropriate. There are two emergency clinics in the area nearby to which we refer emergencies that call-in after hours or on weekends, therefore there are no late-night emergencies. The clinic is open Monday through Friday with one late day (7PM on Wednesday). We are open Saturday mornings with the doctors covering on a rotating basis.
Successful applicants will be licensed to practice in New York State and possess good diagnostic, surgical, and client skills. Must be willing to learn and adapt to the practice’s system of operation. Experience is preferred but required. Medical insurance, vacation, 401K, paid sick leave, year-end (or monthly) bonus. There is a sign-on bonus as well.
